A little christmas update

December 25, 2013
Merry christmas guys, I hope everyone had a joyful night with lot’s of yummy food, the presents you wished for and a few good memories to end the year. I rebelled against danish christmas traditions by having myself a tropical night with exotic burgers, nachos and drinks on the side. By the end of the night I’d drunk my bodyweight in piña colada, cosmopolitan and mojito. It was lovely not getting ill after eating the christmas food (that I honestly don’t even like) as the past four christmas dinners – next year will definitely be another tropical night. Cheers to new traditions.
On another note, I have been fading my hair color since I’m leaving purple and lavender to go bright, neon red. Red is such a powerful, expressive and sensual color that has always been a personal favorite, so it will be fun to go a bit crazy with it for a month or two before dying it drastically different. At the moment the color has faded to a not so attractive seafoam green meets grey meets blue kinda shade, and I can’t wait to be able to get rid of it. Also I was thinking about doing a tutorial for this hairstyle as one of my first videos when I start posting again in january?

Banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and white chocolate

December 22, 2013

As I told you guys I wanted to bake some pastel cupcakes and cookies for christmas, and here comes a recipe. They taste delicious, but after having survived three trainrides and an hour in a hot bus they don’t really look that yummy anymore. Here’s what you will need:

The cupcakes

150 grams of soft butter
150 grams of sugar
1 egg
1 dl. buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon of natron
a pinch of salt
a pinch of baking powder
130 grams of flour
3 small or 2 large mashed bananas
Paper muffin cups
Metal muffin cups

Preheat the oven to 160C. Whip together the soft butter and the sugar until it’s white and fluffy. Whip the egg in, then add vanilla, the mashed bananas, the buttermilk and whip it again. Put all the dry ingredients together in a seperate bowl, mix it and then add the dry ingredients to the wet before whipping everything together one last time. Now put your paper muffin cups in the metal ones and fill the muffin cups 3/4 with the dough. Bake the muffins for around 30 minutes and let them cool off before decorating.

The Frosting

150 grams of soft butter
150 grams of philadelphia cream cheese
320 grams of icing sugar
1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
Vanilla
Food color
1 bar of white chocolate

Mix together the soft butter, the cream cheese, the icing sugar, lemon juice and vanilla and play around with the food colors you like. I divided the frosting into two bowls. For the pink frosting I used a few drops of red food color and kept adding more to achieve the perfect princess pink. For the purple I started with blue (which turned the mix mint green) then pink and then blue again and kept adding more and more until I was satisfied. I applied it with a piping bag and blended it a bit more with a spatula. Lastly I chopped one bar of rich, white chocolate and sprinkled it on top. Enjoy, and let me know if you do this guys!

My family all loved these cupcakes and have all asked for recipes, so I definitely think they were a success. I really wanted to take nice photos, but my new camera is still on it’s way to me, either arriving tomorrow or on the 27th 🙁 It’s so hard to stay patient when you’re absolutely the opposit, I even called the mail office and got them to send it to another mail office closer to my family haha. Hope you can live with iphone pictures a little longer and also I hope everyone is having a wonderful christmas time! Can you guys believe it’s the 24th in two days, ohmygod?

Pastel christmas inspiration

December 18, 2013
This christmas my biggest obsession has been pale winter wonderlands and pastel everything. I love how pastel christmas is so untraditional but in the same time just so appropriate. During december I get really sick of seeing red and dark green everywhere I turn and pale pink, mint green and baby blue is so much more girly and easy for the eye. I’ve found some amazing christmas photos with an atmosphere that’s right up my alley since this month I’ve sadly not been able to decorate at all.
I’m currently waiting for my homemade sugarcookies to cool down so I can start decorating them with buttercream and sprinkles. Hopefully they turned out okay, but I’m gonna let my brother test them tomorrow haha. My camera still hasn’t arrived 🙁 I even called the shop both yesterday and this morning and they couldn’t give me any useful information. I’m crossing my fingers it will come tomorrow instead.

Bought myself a christmas present!

December 17, 2013
Eeeep, I really spoiled myself this year and now I’m just too excited to function at all! It took me quite a lot of debating (yes, I was debating with myself) before I decided to actually order this beauty, but the fact that I have had a pretty poopy year and that I’ve also been really good at saving money lately made me feel like this was an okay present to give myself. It’s kind of an investment when you think about, right? Haha, at least I keep telling myself. My blog will be filled with beautiful, personal photos again with everything from a lot more outfit posts, makeup looks, recipes for yummy foods and snacks I love, DIY post and hopefully a lot more inspiration – I haven’t had my own camera since the late summer of 2011 before my digital camera stopped working while trying to film my first Androgenetics video as a weekly member. The day after I just bought a random JVC camcorder and totally forgot how much I needed a camera for photos as well, I guess you can say I just really needed to update my blogger gear, hehehe. If you back to before september 2011 my blog had a lot more personal content and I so, so miss that! I ordered the camera late on thursday, so it should be here either today or tomorrow and I just can’t wait, goodness me!
I decided to go with the Canon EOS 600D/Rebel T3i after many hours of research as I like the quality of the pictures and it’s video functions, but it also seems to be a top favorite amongst beauty bloggers who do both blogs and youtube. Also I have been eyeing this camera for about a year and a half now and I haven’t really found anything that feels just as right as this baby. So I’m not just babbling for fun when I say that my break from youtube and blogging is over soon, I have so much new inspiration, content, plans and lastly I MISS you guys so much! Will update about the camera as soon as it arrives. Eeeep, again.

Purple bun and doll eyes

December 14, 2013
On thursday I was turning my sleeping pattern around, so in these photos I hadn’t slept for just around twenty hours (a total of thirtytwo hours when I finally slept!!) so as you guys can probably guess I was wearing my bodyweight in Illamasqua concealer, went as overboard as I could with my L’oreal Carbon Gloss liquid liner, a tiny amount of random grey eyeshadow to fill in my brows and crease, a bit of Illamasqua’s Nymph blush bring back some color to my face, MAC Saint Germain lipstick, Silver Dusk as highlighter both on my cupid’s bow and cheekbones and finally some very cheap eyelashes from eBay that looks something like this – they’re horrible to apply because they’re way too firm, but I like the way they look. Oh and I’m also wearing this eyeliner on my waterline to reduce redness.
